Nine years ago at the International, Jared Carrier’s father purchased a two-year-old buckskin filly from Jennifer Batts — sight unseen. That instinct-driven decision proved to be unforgettable. The filly, now known as Buck Naked (“Buckles”), has gone on to become a Reserve World Champion, a 16-time International Champion, and most recently, the 2025 Senior Horse All Day Pleasure Challenge Champion.

The Challenge is a three-phase event exclusively for All Day Pleasure horses aged six and older, testing each entry in In-Hand, Precision Pattern, and Rail Work shown as three-gaited horses. Buckles, who has been part of the Carrier family since she was two, has enjoyed a decorated career across multiple divisions with both Jared and his mother, Bonnie Carrier, in the irons. Her longtime partnership with Jared shined brightly in the Challenge, where the pair topped all three judges’ cards.
